Admission to the Discover! Children’s Museum, the pilot project open at the Twin City Town Center in Chehalis, will be $1 for guests on July 20 for Dollar Dog Day, sponsored by Twin Star Credit Union.

The museum will host games, photos with the bank’s mascot “Dollar Dog” and other family activities.

Admission to the museum is normally $4 per person.

The Museum will also host Steam Train Kid’s Day on Saturday when guests will get $1 off the regular admission price when they present their steam train ticket stub.

Later this month, the Museum is planning a Planes, Trains and Automobiles community event on July 27 when admission will also be $1 off with a train ticket stub. A steam train conductor will visit the museum to answer questions, pose for photos and fold paper airplanes.

The pilot children’s museum will stay open through October in the same location to gather more data and community input for a possible full-scale museum.

The experimental pilot museum has seen more than 8,000 guests since it opened on Feb. 9, nearly tripling the expected attendance.

The museum is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is closed on Monday and Tuesday.
