Centralia College Receives Awards for Marketing and Public Relations

Centralia College reaped awards for staff work in marketing and public relations for the college relations department’s work with the print and online quarterly class schedules from National Council for Marketing and Public Relations District 7, which is comprised of two-year colleges in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Idaho, Alaska, and the Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Yukon Territory.

In addition, to the top schedule, Centralia College received honors for TV commercials, its Viewbook, and the college catalog.

“The awards validate that the quality of work produced by Don Frey and his staff,” said Jim Walton, the college president. “It is every bit as good as, and in many cases better than, the work produced by larger colleges and schools with larger marketing staffs and bigger budgets.”

Providence Centralia Hospital Ranks Among Top Performing U.S. Hospitals

The Joint Commission has named Providence Centralia Hospital to its list of the top performing hospitals in the United States, for the second year in a row.

Providence Centralia received recognition as one of the country’s top 620 hospitals that treat critically ill patients, and represented one of just six hospitals in Washington to make the list.

“We are very proud of the consistent quality and evidence-based care provided by our clinical teams and reconfirmed by this recognition,” said Providence Centralia Vice President of Nursing Jeanell Rasmussen.

These hospitals, which represent the top 18 percent of the 3,300 hospitals in the nation that submit data to the Joint Commission, received accolades for excellence in applying evidence-based clinical processes in treating heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, children’s asthma and for patients who undergo surgery.

Each recognized hospital met two 95-percent performance thresholds.

“These core measures are proven to save lives,” Rasmussen said.
