Blue Skies Warm Up Mossyrock Blueberry Festival

The bright blue skies with temperatures into the high 80s over this past weekend matched up perfectly with the annual Mossyrock Blueberry Festival.

In between the Friday night outdoor concert by Chris Guenther and The Honky Tonk Drifters (voted Lewis County’s Best Musician/Band eight consecutive times by the Lewis County People’s Choice Awards in The Chronicle) at the Klickitat Prairie Park and the Gospel music Sunday morning, the small East Lewis County town celebrated all things blueberry at the height of the fruit’s season.

Saturday morning featured a blueberry pancake breakfast put on by the Assembly of God Church, with another pancake breakfast put on by the Mossyrock fire district Sunday morning.

Saturday also had a 5K run which went over the top of the Mossyrock Dam, a car show by the Mossyrock Road Rebels, the popular 11 a.m. parade, a blueberry pie eating contest, weiner dog races with a dog show and Cowlitz Tribe drumming, with the day ending with the Beatles tribute band British Export.
