The Port of Centralia announced late Wednesday afternoon that a company that makes parts for semi-automatic rifles is coming to Centralia.

Mega Arms LLC will move from its current home in Tumwater to a new manufacturing facility at the Port of Centralia, according to a news release.

The release did not state where in the Port of Centralia the facility would be located or specifically when the company would move its operations to Lewis County, although Mega Arms owner Mike Miller was quoted as saying the company looks forward to “ramping up production at our new facility in the coming months.”

Mega Arms’ Facebook page states that the company serves people in the heavy equipment, aerospace and firearms industries; it also serves people needing single-part machining, fabrication and repairs done to their firearms.

Port commissioners thanked the Lewis County Economic Development Council and its executive director Dick Larman for his role in bringing the company’s operations to Centralia.
