Friends of Capitol Forest to Host Work Party

The public is invited to help with a project to perform drainage work and trail shaping at the Capitol State Forest this weekend.

Washington State Department of Natural Resources staff will join the Friends of Capitol Forest at the work party, which will take place 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. The rally point will be at the “Y” intersection of Waddell Creek Road and Sherman Valley Road, with work taking place on the Porter trail from Wedekind to the Porter Creek entrance.

Those wishing to join should bring clothing appropriate for weather conditions, work gloves, lunch and drinks if desired. Children and dogs are also welcome.
