A wildfire most recently estimated at 6 acres is currently burning in a remote and inaccessible area of the Goat Rocks Wilderness in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
The smoke from the fire may be visible from U.S. Highway 12 and Packwood; however, district rangers assure people the fire is not a threat to anyone or any property, according to Diana Perez, public affairs officer with the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The fire has not caused any trail or road closures. according to Perez. The cause of the fire is undetermined.
