Onalaska Woman Injured in Accidental Shooting

A 59-year-old woman from Onalaska accidentally shot herself in the leg while taking a firearm class Sunday morning at The Firearms Academy of Seattle, Inc., located on the 3300 block of Centralia Alpha Road in Onalaska.

The woman was practicing drawing a firearm from a concealed holster. When she put the gun back in the holster, the 9 mm pistol discharged causing non-life threatening injuries, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office reported.



She suffered no major wounds and was taken to Providence Centralia Hospital for treatment.

When contacted by The Chronicle, The Firearms Academy of Seattle Director Marty Hayes said he had no comment on the incident, noting he respects the privacy of his students.
