As part of its After School Advantage program, International Game Technology (IGT) has installed a $25,000 technology lab in Napavine Elementary School’s library. Napavine unveiled the renovations at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday morning.

IGT is an international gaming company that produces slot machines and other gaming technology. They are a technology partner with Washington’s Lottery.

“We do a lot of the geeky, behind the scene things for lotteries,” said Bobby Hatam, IGT Washington account development manager.

IGT provided 26 desktop computers, monitors, a 3D printer, a projector, a camcorder, desks and chairs to Napavine as part of the renovations.

Judy Guenther, who is a commissioner on the Washington Lottery Commission, suggested Napavine when IGT was looking for a technology lab to renovate. Guenther called Paul Lewis, principal at Napavine Elementary School, and asked if the lab was something the school was interested in. Napavine applied for the program and won the technology lab.
