Men Booked on Suspicion of Drug Offenses

• At 10:19 a.m. on Thursday, police arrested Chris M. Yates, 21, of Centralia, on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. 

• At 4:49 a.m. on Friday, police arrested Treston D. Zimmerman, 33, of Centralia in the 400 block of Girard Street on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and for an outstanding warrant. 

 

Mail Stolen

• At 12:52 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a theft of mail in the 2600 block of Eureka Avenue. 

 

Gatorade Taken

• At 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, a theft was reported in the 1000 block of Belmont Avenue. Gatorade was reported stolen. 

 

Minor Injuries Reported in Car vs. Bicycle Crash

• At 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, a crash between a car and a bicycle was reported in the 600 block of Harrison Avenue. Minor injuries were reported. 

 

Chehalis Police Department

Suspected Marijuana Found

at Green Hill

• At 2:50 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of suspected marijuana found in the possession of an inmate at Green Hill School in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street. The substance was sent to a lab for testing. The 20-year-old male suspect has not yet been charged.

Shoplifter Gets Away With Baby Formula, Candy

• At 4:57 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a shoplifter in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard. The man allegedly got away with two containers of formula and a large bag of candy. No arrests were made. 

 

Possible Break-Ins Reported

• At 10:19 a.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a possible break-in in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street. A woman reported hearing footsteps on her roof, then found her front door unlocked. 

• At 10:03 p.m. on Thursday, a woman reported that she came home to the 800 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue to find her puppy gone. There were no signs of forced entry. 

 

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

Vehicle Hits Deer, Rolls

• At 5:24 p.m. on Sunday, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle collision with a deer near the intersection of North Military and Antrim roads in Winlock. The 18-year-old male driver reported that he was driving his 1988 Ford Ranger in the 800 block of Military Road when a deer jumped into the road. The man lost control and the vehicle rolled. The driver was evaluated at Providence Centralia Hospital for a possible concussion and the vehicle was totaled. 

 

Vehicle Being Towed in Winlock Catches Fire

• At 7:21 p.m. on Wednesday, fire crews and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle on fire near the intersection of Winlock-Vader Road and Jones Road in Winlock. A man reported that he and his wife were towing a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee primarily used for off-roading when a passerby notified them that the vehicle’s engine compartment was on fire. The vehicle was being towed properly and the ignition was not on, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The fire was fully involved when crews arrived and the roadway received some heat damage. The incident is under investigation and it is possible the fire was electrical in nature, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The total loss is $3,050.

 

Man Arrested on Burglary Charge, Referred for Violating Order

• At 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, deputies responded to the 1800 block of state Route 505 in Toledo after receiving a report of a violation of a protection order. Michael W. Severance Jr, was arrested on suspicion of residential burglary and referred to prosecutors on suspicion of violation of a protection order after deputies reportedly found him in a home he was prohibited from entering per the court order. 

 

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

• At 12:48 p.m. on Thursday, deputies were dispatched to the 1200 block of Centralia Avenue after receiving a report of a man finding drug paraphernalia and heroin in his daughter’s belongings. Kayla M. Burleson, 24, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of possession of heroin. 

• At 3 a.m. on Friday, police arrested Zacharey, J. Hanley, 26, of Onalaska, in the 700 block of Harrison Avenue on outstanding warrants. A search incident to his arrest revealed methamphetamine on his person, according to the Sheriff’s Office, and he was booked into the Lewis County Jail on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine.
