The Pinchot Partners are headed to Toledo next week for their monthly meeting.

That gathering of the Gifford Pinchot Forest action group is set for Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Saint Mary’s Academy in north Toledo off of Jackson Highway.

Next Thursday’s meeting will cover the 2018 work plan and the group will receive updates on the Kraus Bridge planning area within the Cowlitz Valley Ranger District of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. That planning area is composed of 20,000 acres in the Woods Creek and Greenhorn Creek watersheds. The Pinchot Partners intend to work closely with the U.S. Forest Service during the planning process.

Additionally, a letter seeking funding for the replacement of Huffacker Bridge on Forest Road 25 will also be up for discussion.

The Pinchot Partners are a nonprofit forest collaborative group focused on work within the Cowlitz Valley of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The group was established in 2002.

Among other projects, the Pinchot Partners have been instrumental in ongoing huckleberry habitat restoration projects, and other regenerative projects, while helping to round up funds for the White Pass Discovery Team.

The Pinchot Partners meeting is open to the public. In order to RSVP, obtain a detailed agenda or other information, call 360-334-2555.
