No Injuries Reported in Garage Fire South of Chehalis

A shop fire reported just before noon on Wednesday in the 300 block of Logan Hill Road south of Chehalis was contained to a garage and knocked out 13 minutes after crews arrived.

Lewis County Fire District 6 responded to a call from a neighbor who reported the fire to 911 followed by a call from the homeowner, who stated no one was inside the building, according to a press release.

Crews from District 6, Lewis County District 5, the Riverside Fire Authority, Chehalis Fire and American Medical Response responded to the incident. Crews found a garage attached to a residence by a carport with heavy smoke. The fire did not threaten the home.

The main structure of the garage was saved, but heavy damage was reported from the smoke and flames, according to the release. No injuries were reported

A building inspector was requested to inspect the building for structural integrity. The cause is currently under investigation by the Chehalis Fire Department.
