Posted

Police and fire crews searched Plummer Lake in Centralia Monday for a boater who went into the water at about noon and didn’t resurface.

Witnesses at the scene reported seeing an unoccupied boat and a lifejacket in the water, said Chief Mike Kytta, of the Riverside Fire Authority.

Witnesses also reported seeing a man struggling in the water.

Fire crews used the man’s boat to check the shoreline and surface of the water for evidence of the missing man.

The search continued until dark Monday, but the man was not found. His name has not been officially released. Efforts to find him were set to continue this morning.

The water in Plummer Lake is approximately 60 feet deep.
