Concert in the Park to Kick Off Fourth of July Weekend in Packwood

Posted

Guitarist Paul Hanson will perform in the park adjacent to the Packwood Timberland Library 5 p.m. Saturday, July 2. The concert is free and open to all ages.

Hanson grew up on Mercer Island, near Seattle, and started playing guitar at age 8. His long musical career includes a 1985 tour with the rock group Vanilla Fudge. Hanson’s guitar work can be heard on “The Best Of Vanilla Fudge Live,” an album recorded during the tour.

The concert location is part of approximately 2 acres of old-growth forest, known locally as “the park” and owned by the library. There will be some seating provided. Concert-goers are welcome to bring their own.

The library closes at 4 p.m. on Saturdays. However, guests will have access to library rest rooms. Friends of the Packwood Timberland Library will provide lemonade and cookies.

The Packwood Timberland Library is located at 109 W. Main St. For more information, call the library at (360) 494-5111 or visit www.TRL.org.
