Washington Orthopaedic Center in Centralia Hires New Orthopedic Surgeon

The Washington Orthopaedic Center in Centralia recently hired Dr. Melissa Kounine, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon.

According to a press release from the Washington Orthopaedic Center, “Dr. Kounine places a value on individual care, and welcomes your questions and discussion of non-operative and operative treatment options. She is now accepting patients at Washington Orthopaedic Center’s Centralia and Olympia locations.”



Kounine has extensive experience in hip and knee joint replacements. She is fellowship-trained in Orthopedic Oncology, which is the treatment of extremity tumors. She then became an assistant professor, the chief of orthopedic oncology and associate director of the Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program at University of Toledo Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. After she moved to the Pacific Northwest, she worked with Kaiser Permanente in the Portland area before joining a private orthopedic practice in Hillsboro, Oregon.
