Precision Printing and Copy Depot Celebrates 25 Years

Precision Printing and Copy Depot is inviting the community to celebrate 25 years of business at its new location in the Fairway Shopping Center this week.

As part of the event, there will be daily specials and giveaways as well as a grand prize trip to Disneyland that will be up for grabs this Saturday.

Dorothy Due, the owner of the business, first opened her doors on Nov. 12, 1991, on Kresky Avenue, later moving into a different location in the Fairway Shopping Center. The Centralia High School graduate worked for another shop in town and was encouraged to open her own business.

The business caters to the community’s printing needs, offering copy services, graphic design, digital printing, custom T-shirts, wide format banners, posters and personalized gifts such as coffee mugs and calendars, among other items.

Ray, Dorothy’s husband, said the business has over 200 rolls of vinyl in stock in various colors that allows the business to do vehicle lettering.

That variety is what sets the business apart from others in the area, Due said.

“We all have our niche,” Due said of area businesses. “Ours is being versatile.”

In 2007, the business expanded further when Due bought Copy Depot and combined the two businesses.

Just six weeks ago, the company moved into a larger location at the Fairway Shopping Center.

“We’re like a family here,” she said of the surrounding businesses.

Fairway Shopping Center has a new owner, and the complex is working to renovate the remainder of the storefronts with an updated look.

Due is all settled in, but still plans to upgrade and expand some of Precision Printing’s equipment to offer even more services such as full color blueprints and envelopes.

The business has seven employees, which include Due’s son Randy, who has been working with the company for 23 years.

“They’re all great employees,” she said.

Due said her favorite part of the daily grind is the people she works with and the customers she helps on a daily basis.

“No two jobs are the same,” she said, adding the business also sells several gift items like candles and kids books.

One of the more popular items includes the personalized gifts, she said. People can design their own, or work with one of two graphic designers to find what they are looking for.
