Purring engines will be backed by the scattershot sounds of jazz music at Saturday’s Billetproof classic car cruise in downtown Centralia. The Centralia Downtown Association has arranged what they are calling Music on the Lawn to coincide with the annual automobile extravaganza.
The Dimitri Matheny Group will keep the jazz fingers waving and toes tapping on Saturday night on the corner of Pine and Pearl streets. The gig is part of a planned 100-city national tour by the group.
Dimitri Matheny is a well-known musician and composer from San Francisco who recently moved to the Hub City. His group is comprised of Milo Peterson on guitar, Steve Luceno on bass, Steve Bentley on drums and Matheny on flugelhorn.
The music will begin at 6 p.m. A beer garden will be near at hand for thirsty concert goers and admission is free.
