Manual Recount Complete; Dorey Elected to Fifth Term As Assessor

Posted

A manual recount of votes in the race for Lewis County assessor has been declared complete, and Dianne Dorey has been officially reelected to her position for a fifth term.

The vote count upon initial certification showed Dorey leading challenger Candy Hallom 10,691 votes to 10,662. The manual recount didn’t change Dorey’s vote total, but added six for Hallom, which was not enough to overcome the gap between her and the incumbent.

Elections officials declared Wednesday morning that the recount results were certified.
