The Adna boys basketball team rode hot shooting from its freshmen to victory at home Monday, downing Kalama 72-54.
Trevin Salme scored 27 points and tied the Adna single-game record with nine 3-pointers, going 9 for 17 from beyond the arc. He finished the night by going 6 for 8 from long range in the second half, while fellow freshman Grayson Humphrey went 3 for 4.
Jens Neilson added 12 points, while Lane Johnson had eight rebounds and seven assists.
The Pirates only led by three points at halftime, but went on a 23-13 run in the third quarter thanks in large part to three triples from Trevin Salme and two from Humphrey.
The Pirates (13-4, 7-2 C2BL) will host Wahkiakum on Wednesday.
