The Black Hills girls basketball team posted its fourth straight win to open 2024 on Thursday, taking out Aberdeen 64-43.

Four separate Black Hills players finished in double figures. On the perimeter, Tyler Venable led the Wolves (12-2, 6-1 2A EvCo) with 19 points and Kiley McMahon had 11; the two combined to hit all five of their side’s 3-pointers. On the inside, Natalie Buchanan scored 12 points and Ashley Harris scored 10, and both finished with eight rebounds to share the team lead.

Black Hills found itself in a 12-12 tie after a quarter of play, but ran off with things for good in a 20-5 second quarter.

The Wolves will take on 1A Elma in a non-league game on Monday. They’ll return to 2A EvCo action next Friday, with a chance to clinch a spot in the district tournament.
