The Black Hills baseball team threw a combined no-hitter in a five-inning victory over Hoquiam on Monday, topping the Grizzlies 12-2.
Joey Floyd and Willy Kytta combined to no-hit the Grizzlies, as the only two Hoquiam runs scored on a combination of a hit, an error, and a fielder’s choice.
Offensively, the Wolves did more than enough to comfortably run away with it for their first win of the season.
Parker Termini and Floyd finished off a six-run second with an RBI double and single, respectively, and the Wolves added four more in the third to open up a 10-0 lead.
After a Kytta sacrifice fly, Chase Chandler brought home a pair on an RBI single and Orion Pate drove in another with an RBI single of his own.
After a bases-loaded walk brought home another in the fourth, Chandler knocked in another run to put Wolves up 10. Chandler and Pate both finished 2-for-3 at the plate.
The Wolves (1-1) will hit the road for the first time this season on Wednesday, when they’ll head to Hoquiam.
