W.F. West’s Ellie Mittge and Manta Ceesay won the EvCo Sub-District Doubles Title on Tuesday, defeating fellow Bearcats Katelyn Wood and Lilly Hueffed in the championship match 7-6 (7-4), 0-6, 6-3.

The win caps a great tournament for Mittge and Ceesay, who lost just two games in its two matches prior to the championship bout. Wood and Hueffed also made the title match with ease, as they won both of their matches in straight sets on Monday to advance.

Centralia’s Ayden Butler and Madi Breckel finished third via walkover against Tumwater’s Rosie Uhlmeyer and Ashlyn Spencer, who finished fourth.

Centralia’s Maya Lackie won three matches to make the singles final, but she ultimately fell to Aberdeen’s Sophie Knutson 3-6, 3-6 in the title match to finish second.

Centralia’s Esther Hopkins and W.F. West’s Emma Hamilton both dominated their matches on Tuesday, setting up a matchup between the two in the third/fourth game on Wednesday afternoon in Centralia.

After that, teams will turn their attention to the district tournament, which is set for next Wednesday and Friday, May 14 and 16, at the Steamboat Tennis and Athletic Club in Olympia.
