After winning its first match of the season on Tuesday, the W.F. West bowling team hit the road Wednesday and Thursday and came away with a pair of wins over Ridgefield and Black Hills.
On Wednesday, the Bearcats topped the Spudders 1,830-1,669 at Hazel Dell Lanes. They were led by anchor Savanna Hoy-Siler, who averaged 181 on the night.
“Our scoring is not where we need it to be, but our defense has saved the day two days in a row,” W.F. West coach Rich Bunker joked. “A win is a win and we’ll take it.”
W.F. West put some more points on the board Thursday in a 1,888-1,519 win over Black Hills in Olympia, but Bunker still thinks that the Bearcats are leaving some points off the board.
“We are thankful we are winning,” Bunker said. “I think when we get a little practice in, we will get our offense in gear.”
Bunked added that the difference in the match came in the Baker games, which W.F. West won 178-136 and 197-124. Lexi Delisle averaged 162 points, while August Isenhower averaged 156. Elle Goheen led Black Hills with back-to-back 168s.
Next up for the Bearcats is a Swamp Cup matchup with Centralia at Fairway Lanes on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
