The W.F. West boys basketball team couldn’t hand Sequim its first loss of the season on Saturday, instead falling to the Wolves 59-42.
Sequim came out of the gates strong, scoring 21 in the first and adding 14 in the second while W.F. West scored just 19 points in the first two frames combined.
The Bearcat defense played better in the second half, but the offense couldn’t make a dent in the deficit.
Gage Brumfield finished with a team-high nine points, while Grady Westlund wasn’t far behind with eight of his own.
Weston Potter scored five, and Luke McMillar and Hayden Rooney both added three. Wyatt Hoffman and Fox Rogerson rounded out the W.F. West scorebook with two apiece.
W.F. West will have two more non-league games to wrap up their four-game road trip, as the Bearcats (2-5) will head to Cedarcrest on Friday and Rochester on Monday, Jan. 6.
