A study by the Journalists’ Research Department and the Family Destination Guide has named Mount Rainier as the top mountain climbing spot in the U.S. based on TripAdvisor ratings and reviews as well as Instagram hashtag data, according to a news release.

Six hundred mountainous destinations across all 50 states were examined and given a “peak” score out of 30. Rainier garnered the highest with a “peak” score of 22 out of 30. Washington’s famous peak had 439,039 instagram posts with the hashtag #mountrainier and a five-star rating on TripAdvisor with 1,796 reviews.

With both dining and lodging options in the area, visitors to Mount Rainier have no shortage of things to do aside from climbing the 14,410 foot volcano.

Behind Rainier, Haleakala Crater in Hawaii came in second, Lookout Mountain in Georgia came in third, Grand Teton in Wyoming came in fourth and Camelback Mountain in Arizona came in fifth according to the study’s rankings.

The rest of the top 10 included Mount Washington in New Hampshire, Maroon Bells in Colorado, Cadillac Mountain in Maine, Mauna Kea Summit in Hawaii and Clingmans Dome in North Carolina.

“The U.S. is spoiled for choice with beautiful scenery, and mountain climbing is a popular year-round activity which allows you to immerse yourself in the country’s natural beauty,” a Family Destinations Guide spokesperson said in the release. “With spring just around the corner, it is a great opportunity for families, couples or solo travelers to explore the natural heights and landscapes that come with mountain climbing.”
