Centralia alum Von Wasson is already making a splash with UC Riverside at the Division I level, as the former Tiger earned a top-5 finish at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitation in Stockton, California.
Wasson shot an 8-under 205 across the three-day tournament, including a 4-under 67 on Tuesday, which was the second best in the field that includes golfers from Washington State, Idaho, Nevada, and more.
It’s Wasson’s second impressive performance in a row, as at the Bill Cullum Invitational in Somis, California last week, he shot a 2-under 34 on the front nine, including an eagle on the eighth hole.
Next up for Wasson and the Highlanders is a trip across the Pacific, as they’ll head to Hawaii the final week of October for the Kapolei Invitational in Honolulu.
