On a nice day out at Newaukum Golf Course in Chehalis on Monday, the W.F. West boys golf team defeated Centralia for the second time this season, 237-254, despite another match medalist effort for the Tigers’ Von Wasson.

Wasson shot two-under par, a stellar 34 to lead all scorers and finish six strokes ahead of the next competitor.

Leading the Bearcats with the next best score was Ben Halverstadt, who shot a 40. Behind him, Jake Remund carded a 48, Connor Klovdahl a 49, Deacon Meller another 49, and Braden Jones rounded it out with a 51.

For Centralia, Jake Johnson shot a 63, Brady Sprague a 50, Tucker Weaver carded a 55, and Caden Fitzgerald shot a 51.

Both teams are preparing for the home stretch of the fall season, where first up they’ll compete at the league championships at Newaukum Golf Course Oct. 18.
