Washington State Parks Announce Two Free Days in April

Posted

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission invites the public to celebrate the spring season and Earth Day with two free days at state parks.

On April 3 and 22, visitors do not need a Discover Pass for day-use parking.

Typically, annual Discover Passes cost $30 and one-day permits cost $10. These passes are required for daytime vehicle access to state recreation lands including: Washington State Parks, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) and the Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

For the free days in April, visitors will still need passes to park at WDFW and DNR land. Overnight visitors to state parks will still be charged fees for camping and overnight accommodations.

The state parks will be free for several upcoming holidays this year. These are: June 5 for National Trails Day, June 12 for National Get Outdoors Day, June 13 for Free Fishing Day, Aug. 25 for the National Park Service’s birthday, Sept. 25 for National Public Lands Day, Nov. 11 for Veterans Day and Nov. 26 for Autumn Free Day.
