The Rochester girls golf team played its first match of the season on Thursday at Riverside, and the Warriors lost a close battle against Kalama 290-297.
The teams used the double par pickup scoring system, and Mallory Gilbert finished with a match-best 66.
Ava Baird added a 74, Addie Neff scored a 78, and Gabby Pietras logged a 79. Lizeth Venegas and Karen Rivera-Garcia both shot an 81.
Kalama was led by Zella Storedahl, who posted a 68, while Elle Kushner had a 72 and Hiley Lawson logged a 73.
Rochester will be back at Riverside next Thursday, March 27, to host Montesano.
