Warriors’ Comeback Falls Just Short Against Highclimbers

Searching for another 2A Evergreen Conference win, the Rochester boys basketball team came up just short of a huge comeback in a 61-60 loss to Shelton on the road Wednesday night. 

“A well played game,” Warriors coach Gino McDuffy said. “The young men fell just short tonight.”

The Warriors trailed by nine heading into the fourth quarter, and nearly made up the difference late, outscoring the ‘Climbers by eight in the fourth before falling just short. 

Larenz Payne led Rochester with 17 points, and Carson Rotter and Brayden O’Connor each added 16 in a balanced scoring night for the Warriors.

They’ll hope to rebound against W.F. West at home on Friday.
