After a two-week break, the Rochester softball team was able to return to action on Tuesday against Tenino, and the Warriors ran away with a dominant 20-4 victory.

Tenino struck first in the bottom of the second thanks to an RBI groundout from Georgia Gore, but Rochester answered right back with a three-spot in the third on a two-run double from Layna Demers and a bases-loaded walk from Arissa LeBaron.

Tamara Snodderly got one back for the Beavers in the bottom of the third with an RBI single, but Rochester put up six in the fourth to open up a 9-2 lead.

Even after Tenino scored a pair in the bottom half to get back within five, the Warriors put up 11 in the fifth to put the game out of reach.

Cheyenne Justice finished 3 for five at the plate with a double, two runs batted in, and two runs scored, while Demers finished with two hits and five RBIs. Hailey Boyd also went 2 for 4, including a triple, and drove in four.

Snodderly finished with two hits in three at-bats to lead the Beavers, and Kate Burkhardt also collected a hit and drove in a run.

Tenino (0-4, 0-1 1A Evergreen) and Rochester (1-1, 1-0 1A Evergreen) will meet again in Rochester on Thursday, but only after the Warriors take on Elma at home on Wednesday.
