Warriors Blow Out NWC for First Win of the Season

Three Rochester players scored in double digits and the Warriors ran through visiting Northwest Christian (Lacey), 88-55, for their first win of the season in a non-league match Monday.

Tyler Klatush dropped in a game-high 21 points, Larenz Payne finished with 13 and Ben Clouse had 12 as the Warriors raced out to a 10-point lead in the first quarter and kept the pressure on the rest of the way.

I’m very proud how the team played with the ‘teammate mentality,’” Rochester coach Derrick Pringle said. “Everyone was being unselfish and making sure everyone was engaged and successful. With them getting their first win of the season, we now need to continue to combine up to play at our best when we meet Tumwater Wednesday. They are big and can shoot, so our defense needs to be on point.”

Rochester (1-3) hosts Tumwater at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
