Returning to the gridiron for the first time since clinching the 1B Pac-5 title, the Mossyrock football team celebrated with a blowout, hammering Oakville 72-12.

The Vikings scored in all three phases of the game in the first quarter, starting the scoring off when Peyton McClure returned the opening kickoff 82 yards to the house, scoring three offensive touchdowns, and finishing off a 38-point period with a Hunter Isom pick-six.

From there, the rout only continued. Mossyrock led 60-0 at halftime and 66-0 after three quarters as the clock ran, before Oakville got itself on the board with a pair of touchdown passes from Gio Rodas in the fourth.

Eight separate Vikings toted the rock on the night, none carrying it more than five times. All told, Mossyrock averaged 13.4 yards per run, with Easton Kolb, Sage Greisen, Luke Cooper, and Andrew Cornelius scoring a touchdown apiece.

Easton Kolb also saw two of his three completions make it to the end zone, with Keegan Kolb catching a 55-yard scoring strike and Greisen scoring on an 11-yard pass.

Keegan Kolb made it two special teams touchdowns in the fourth quarter after Oakville’s first touchdown, taking an onside kick attempt all the way back.

Oakville’s season comes to an end with a 3-5 record. Mossyrock (9-0) will host a crossover matchup against a to-be-decided opponent from the north.
