The 1B No. 8 Mossyrock boys basketball team got in one last tuneup before the biggest game of its season and took advantage, rolling to a 70-45 non-league win over Onalaska on Wednesday.
The Vikings, who will host No. 5 Willapa Valley in a top-10 showdown with the 1B Columbia Valley League title on the line Friday, hit 20 points in each of the first two quarters, building up a 44-23 lead by halftime.
“We came out fired up and ready to execute on both ends of the floor,” assistant coach Kelly Ross said. “We shared the ball extremely well and found shooters in rhythm.”
Matt Cooper led a quartet of Vikings in double figures with 17 points. Easton Kolb had 16, all of which came in the first half. Keegan Kolb scored 15 points, and Hunter Isom added 13.
Case and Rylan McGraw had nine points apiece to lead the Loggers, who finished with nine players on the scoresheet but didn’t get any to double figures. Blaze Underhill added eight, and Ben Russon, the lone senior on the Onalaska roster, scored six in his final game in purple.
The Loggers end their season with a 6-14 record, going 3-10 in Central 2B League play to finish eighth in the league.
