The Mossyrock softball team bounced back from a loss to Rainier in a big way on Thursday, as the Vikings topped Morton-White Pass 18-3 in four innings.
It was 3-3 through two innings of play, but the Vikings (1-1) quickly put it out of reach with eight in the third and seven in the fourth.
Six Vikings recorded multiple hits and four had three or more, led by Adyson Barrows, who went 4 for 5 with an RBI at the plate, and she also scored three runs.
Chesney Schultz went 3 for 4 with an RBI double, and Hadleigh Gerard went 3 for 4 with a triple, three runs batted in, two runs scored, and a walk.
“We just kept hitting the ball,” Mossyrock coach Keith Coleman said, adding that the Vikings were aggressive at the plate throughout.
“The best pitch to hit is the first pitch,” Coleman said. “And there were a lot of first-pitch hits today.”
Karlee Coleman was one of two T-Wolves (0-1) with multiple hits, going 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs, while Izzy Loucks went 2 for 2.
The Vikings are back in action on Friday, when they’ll take on Darrington at the RAC in Lacey, while the Timberwolves will host Eatonville in a doubleheader at White Pass on Tuesday.
