Mossyrock softball overcame a 4-1 deficit early to roar back for a 17-10 road win over league-leading Naselle in 1B Columbia Valley League action on Wednesday.

The Vikings’ win sets up a showdown with the Comets at 4 p.m. Monday in Mossyrock for the league title.

“It was a good win for us,” Mossyrock coach Keith Coleman said. “I knew it’d be a tough game. The younger girls are starting to gel.”

The Vikings’ attack was led by star junior Hailey Brooks, who went 4 for 4 with five runs, a double and a triple. Brooks was intentionally walked with the bases loaded, which sparked a five-run second inning.

Delaney Marshall was 4 for 5 with four RBIs and Erin Cournyer was 2 for 5. Cournyer was solid in the circle, striking out eight batters in five innings.
