The Mossyrock boys basketball team bounced back from a blowout loss with a win on Thursday, defeating Morton-White Pass 73-58.
Eighth-grader Colby Cournyer and freshman Kevin Mitchell led the way, combining for 38 points.
“They got pretty hot tonight,” Mossyrock coach Tom Kelly said. “They’re really coming on … The young guys are really starting to play. It’s fun"
Ethan Johnson added 11, and Shaun Fry scored eight. In his first game back, Easton Kolb added seven.
“He’s the engine that makes that train go,” Kelly said of Kolb. “He’s toughing it out and playing.”
Judah Kelly led MWP with 27, while Logan Mays and Noah Troy also hit double-figures with 11 and 10, respectively.
Both the Vikings and Timberwolves will hit the road Saturday. Mossyrock (2-1, 2-1 C2BL) will head to Winlock, while MWP (2-2, 1-2 C2BL) will make the trip north to face Coupeville.
