Vikings Blow Past Eagles in 1B Matchup

After taking on a pair of higher-classification sides in non-league play, the Mossyrock volleyball team breezed through its return to 1B Columbia Valley action, sweeping Three Rivers Christian 25-3, 25-16, 25-15.

Payton Torrey had a team-high 13 kills and added seven digs and four aces to her line. Hailey Brooks posted seven kills in attack and a team-best eight digs in defense. Abbie Lovan also had five digs in the back row.

Paige Houghtelling racked up eight aces on a perfect night of serving – Mossyrock finished with 19 aces as a squad – while also logging eight kills and sending back the Vikings’ lone block of the night.



Caelyn Marshall and Erin Cournyer were their normal efficient selves in setting; the former put up 12 assists while the latter dished out 10.

Mossyrock (5-0, 2-0 1B CVL) will go back to picking on schools bigger than itself Thursday, when it faces 2B Toutle Lake in its final non-league match of the season. The Vikings swept the Fighting Ducks at home in their season-opener on Sept. 8.
