Undefeated Bearcats on Fire With Eighth-Straight Win

W.F. West boys tennis continued its rampage this season with a 6-0 sweep of visiting Aberdeen in 2A Evergreen Conference action on Wednesday.

The Bearcats have now won eight straight matches to start the season.

W.F. West’s Justin Chung defeated Aberdeen’s Andrew Troeh, 6-0, 6-1, in the No. 1 singles match. In No. 2 singles, Jayvyn Han defeated Kyle Miller, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.

“Nice job by Javyn after losing the first set and coming back,” W.F. West coach Jack State said. “It was nice for him to get a three-set match.”

In No. 3 singles, the Bearcats kept cruising with Andrew Boggess defeating Foster Patterson, 6-0, 6-2.

On the doubles side, Bearcat duo Joseph Chung and Aaron Boggess defeated Ashdon Swope and Colton Faulkner, 6-0, 6-1. In No. 2 doubles, Hans Meier and Bryce Kuykendall defeated Daniel Garcia and Luca Pisani, 6-3, 6-0.

“The second doubles, Hans and Bryce, were down 3-0 before they realized they weren’t getting beat, they were losing,” State said. “They analyzed their mistakes and fixed them.”

And in No. 3 doubles, Will Cummings and Mason Walters defeated Kevin Eng and Brodyn Osina, 6-0, 6-1.
