PE ELL — Tyler Adkins tossed two touchdown passes to Tyson Portmann and ran another one in as Pe Ell-Willapa Valley defended its home turf against Morton-White Pass for a 28-6 victory in Pe Ell Friday.

Adkins lit up the scoreboard on the Titans’ opening drive of the game with a six-yard touchdown run, then threw touchdown passes of 44 and 34 yards, both to Portmann, in the second quarter to put PWV up 21-0 at the half.

MWP got on the board in the third quarter with a clock-eating, nine-minute drive capped by Layten Collette’s 1-yard touchdown plunge. PWV tailback Blake Howard ended the scoring on the night with a 2-yard touchdown blast in the fourth quarter to seal the game.

PWV coach Josh Fluke credited the Titans’ offensive line (Garrett Keeton, Connor Keeton, Jesse Justice, Owen Little and Kaiden Ritzman) for paving the way to victory

“Our o-line blocked the best they have this year. Props to our o-line and tight ends,” Fluke said, mentioning TEs Kolton Fluke and Portmann.

Howard led the rushing attack with 15 carries for 131 yards, while Wil Clements had 15 carries for 82 yards. Adkins was red-hot in the passing game, going 6 for 6 with 129 yards and two TDs.

Morton-White Pass was led by Layten Collette’s 14 carries for 40 yards, and he was 2 for 8 passing for 23 yards. The T-Wolves were held to 150 total yards to PWV’s 403.

“Our linebacker play was pretty damn good,” Fluke said. “Our defense was stellar again.”

Pe Ell-Willapa Valley (3-2, 2-1 league) travels to No. 2 Napavine on Friday. Morton-White Pass (3-2 overall) hosts Raymond-South Bend on Friday.
