Three Twin-City wrestlers just capped off impressive performances at the 50th annual USA Wrestling Junior and 16U National Championships in Fargo, North Dakota, Saturday and Sunday.

Facing some of the top prep wrestlers in the country, W.F. West High School’s Bo Davis and Blake Ely, and Centralia High School’s Antonio Campos each won at least one match over the weekend.

The trio joined 59 other wrestlers from Team Washington, which had the ninth-most wrestlers in attendance of the 47 states competing.

Bo Davis put on the best showing of the three in the double-elimination tourney, winning two matches in the junior 138-pound 16U division to finish with a 2-2 record.

Davis opened the tourney with a loss by fall to Andrew Grabinski of Connecticut in 4:33 on Sunday. He rebounded with two-straight wins, a pin of Georgia’s Dakota Williamson in 1:47 and a technical fall over Wyoming’s Randy Peters in 2:17. Davis was then eliminated in a 16-8 decision to Washington’s Gabriel Smith.

Ely wrestled in the 145-pound 16U freestyle division, finishing with a 1-2 record after receiving a first-round bye.

Ely opened with a 9-5 loss to Idaho’s Manuel Valdez. He recovered with a technical-fall victory over California’s Ray Waller in 51 seconds. Ely was then eliminated with a technical-fall loss to Oklahoma’s Caden Kelly in 3:01.

Campos, a soon-to-be-sophomore, opened the 113-pound 16U freestyle division with a first-round bye. He then lost to Idaho’s Treygen Morin in a technical fall in 3:04. Campos battled back in his second match to win by technical fall over Oklahoma’s Payton Zweigel, before losing on a technical fall to Pennsylvania’s Tahir Parkins in 3:57.
