Tumwater Takes Care Of Black Hills

The Tumwater softball team defeated the Black Hills on Tuesday, 7-0 in 2A EvCo play.

The Thunderbirds started their scoring in the top of the first inning when Kylie Waltermeyer singled to center field to drive in a run.

The game stayed locked at 1-0 for four innings, until the T-Birds opened things up in the fifth, where a single to right from Jamie Hasse sent two runs in. The scoring continued to be abundant in the sixth as Tumwater tacked on four more scores to seal the seven-run victory.

The Wolves’ two hits of the game came from Sam West and Emma Arco, who both singled.

Ella Ferguson showed an impressive outing from the circle, throwing a complete game filled with 18 strikeouts, while only allowing two hits. A pitching performance to pair nicely with her 2 for 3, 2-RBI day at the plate.

Tumwater and Black Hills will both be back on the field at home Wednesday. The T-Birds take on Shelton, while the Wolves are set to battle River Ridge.
