The Tumwater soccer team’s second matchup against Centralia went much the same as the first, with the Thunderbirds blanking the Tigers 6-0 on Thursday at Sid Otton Field.

Regan Brewer got the scoring started fast with a goal in the third minute. Kayla Pope made it 2-0 in the 20th with a shot from long distance, and Emalyn Shaffer added the hosts’ third goal in the 27th.

Shaffer connected twice more —  in the 50th and 56th minute — to secure her hat trick, before Lucy Bergford made it 6-0 in the 61st.

Tumwater put 18 shots on frame over the course of the night. Lilliana Babka saved five in the first half for Centralia, while Braylee Blankenship, who came on for the second half, had seven saves.

Centralia snapped off two shots on target.

The Tigers will face Tenino on Saturday, while Tumwater — which has yet to allow a goal in league play — will play at Black Hills on Saturday.
