Fueled by a pair of tiebreaking wins by their No. 1 doubles duo and a sweep in singles, the Thunderbirds edged the Tigers 5-1 on Wednesday afternoon in an Evergreen Conference match.
Adela Schmiedeberg and Kayla Pope pulled out a 7-6 (7-2), 7-6 (9-7) triumph at No. 1 doubles that helped Tumwater win the dual. It swept the singles in straight sets and won in straight sets at No. 3 doubles.
The lone win by Centralia came at No. 2 doubles as the tandem of Neela Haywood and Maddie Breckel secured a 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (9-7) victory.
