Tumwater had little trouble dispatching another 4A opponent on Friday, as the T-Birds toppled Union on the road 56-10.
The Thunderbirds tallied just under 500 yards of total offense, including 309 on the ground.
Fourteen different T-Birds recorded a carry, led by Peyton Davis, who received eight and ran for 51 yards and two touchdowns.
He got the most carries, but Brett Hayford and Parker Berry tied for the team-high in yards. Both of them rushed for 62 and scored. Kyson Sayamnet took advantage of his lone carry, as he scored from four yards out.
Quarterback Jaxon Budd had more success on deep balls through the air, as he logged 181 passing yards and three touchdowns on just six completions.
Wyatt Chase hauled in a 71-yard touchdown on his lone reception, and Derek Thompson’s only catch went for a 63-yard touchdown. Jake Dillon hauled in two catches for 36 yards, including a touchdown.
Union was able to put up 10 in the second quarter, but other than that, the Tumwater defense was lights out.
Beckett Wall tallied 11 tackles, including four TFLs, and he also added three sacks, two batted balls, a fumble recovery, and he blocked a PAT.
Washington State commit Malijah Tucker recorded four tackles, including two for loss, and a sack, and Cash Short had three tackles and two fumble recoveries. Dylan Gilliland had four tackles, including a pair of TFLs, and two sacks.
Tumwater (5-0) will return home for the Pioneer Bowl against Black Hills on Friday, Oct. 11.
