Earning a dominant home win Saturday afternoon, the Pe Ell girls basketball team defeated Wishkah Valley, 74-12.

The Trojans had five players score in double figures in another well-rounded offensive night, and after blitzing ahead, 35-3 after one quarter, got plenty of young players game experience throughout the afternoon.

“It was a tuneup game for our girls next week,” Pe Ell coach Dave Tuengel said. “The girls played well and it was a good contest to play a lot of young kids.”

Senior Charlie Carper scored 17 points to go along with five rebounds, seven assists, and eight steals to lead the way. Brookelynn King added 12 points, seven steals, and five assists, and Ricki Coleman had just four points, but hauled in nine big rebounds.

Madi Engel scored 13 points, Karli Phelps added 10, and Devyn Shannon rounded out double-digit scorers with another 10 points for the Trojans.

Pe Ell takes on Naselle on the road on Monday before closing the regular season against Columbia Adventist at home on Thursday.
