Charlie Carper and the Pe Ell girls basketball team ended their regular season on a high note, rolling to a 53-39 win over Columbia Adventist on Thursday in 1B Columbia Valley League play.

The Trojan’s senior leader dropped another triple-double with 26 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 steals. Two more Pe Ell players finished with double-doubles, with Peyton Zock scoring 10 points and bringing in 15 boards, and Karli Phelps adding 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Pe Ell got out to a 15-3 run to start the game, and led 32-11 at halftime.

“We jumped out early, and took them out of what they wanted to do offensively in the first half,” coach Dave Tuengel said. “I thought we showed good patience offensively for the first time all year.”

The Trojans wrapped the regular season at 11-8 to take the 1B CVL’s fourth seed into the district tournament. They’ll open up their postseason run on Tuesday at Oakville in a loser-out game.
