A grand total of 75 runs over the course of 12 innings between Morton-White Pass and White Swan ended with a sweep for the latter at home by the scores of 14-12 and 26-23 on Saturday afternoon.
The second game was done after MWP (5-2) scored a run in the top of the fifth. It jumped out to an 11-0 lead after the first inning, capped by a two-run single from Izzy Loucks. Bria Elkins and Alyssa Kampa also had RBI hits in the frame.
White Swan cut into the deficit with nine runs in the first two innings combined before exploding for 14 in the bottom of the third. Eleven of those runs came with two outs, then the Timberwolves plated eight in the fourth, but never garnered the lead again.
Every hitter in MWP’s lineup drew at least one walk in the nightcap. Brooklyn Montoure recorded three hits while Kampa and Mieka Blake drove in three runs apiece and totaled six stolen bases.
In the opener, the Timberwolves rallied down 8-3 with a six-run fifth behind RBI hits from Loucks, Lexi Moe, Gracie Ford and Montoure. White Swan grabbed the lead back down 10-9 with a five-spot in the sixth and MWP tallied two in the seventh, but the tying run at the plate struck out.
Kyra Bowen went 5-for-5 with five RBIs out of the leadoff spot in Game 1 while Moe and Loucks each had two hits for the Timberwolves. They will take on Raymond/South Bend in another non-league doubleheader on Tuesday.
