Timberwolves Run Out To Strong Start In Season-Opening Win

Posted

Led by a frenetic scoring attack and a midseason-level pace and tempo, Morton-White Pass cruised past La Center in its season opener Monday night, 72-54.

Gary Dotson scored 24 and Layten Collette dropped 20 points to lead the Timberwolves (1-0) to a debut win over the Wildcats.

“We played extremely hard,” T-Wolves coach Chad Cramer said. “They executed the game plan to perfection. I thought we were really able to set the pace tonight.”

It was a well-rounded scoring night for the T-Wolves, with Jace Peters, in his first varsity game and start, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds and Judah Kelly and Matt Cooper both scoring six points.

Cramer commended the play of Dotson, for bringing intensity, Collette, for establishing the pace, and Peters, for performing so well in his first big minutes.

MWP will host Mossyrock next on Thursday in a non-league matchup at 7 p.m.
