Timberwolves Blow Out Fishermen for Second Time

Rain made it an ugly affair out on the coast, but the Morton-White Pass football team rolled past Ilwaco nonetheless, returning to SWW 2B North play with a 42-0 win.

Playing in rain for the first time this fall, the teams combined for 14 fumbles. MWP put the ball on the ground five times — losing the ball twice — while also recovering three of Ilwaco’s nine fumbles.

“You haven’t had rain in awhile, and the kids forget how to play in it and it gets a little sloppy,” MWP coach Lee Metcalf said.

When the T-Wolves did keep the ball in their hands, they were all but unstoppable on the ground. Brecken Pelletier ran for 204 yards, while Carter Dantinne rushed for 155. Those two both found the end zone twice in the first half to push the visitors to a 28-0 lead, before the Timberwolves finished their scoring in the fourth quarter on a Gaven Cheney scoop-n-score and a short Judah Kelly pass to Hunter Hazen.

Kohen Ingalsbe added 43 rushing yards for the T-Wolves, who improved to 3-2 in league play.

Morton-White Pass will wrap up its regular season with a battle for third place in the North against Raymond-South Bend.
