The Napavine girls basketball team will enter the state tournament riding a two-game win streak, as the Tigers topped Mossyrock 51-29 in the 2B District 4 Third-Place Game on Saturday afternoon in Chehalis.
Hayden Kaut once again led the way for the Tigers, helping them build a 11-point lead in the first half before they pulled away in the second.
Kaut finished with 16 points and 12 rebounds for another postseason double-double, and she also grabbed three steals. Taylen Evander added nine points, while Ava Ondong scored eight and grabbed seven rebounds.
Nicholle Valentine also scored eight points, while Jessie McCoy and Hannah Fay both scored two. McCoy added five steals defensively, and Alexis Schutz tallied two points.
Chesney Schultz led Mossyrock with 11 points and seven rebounds, while Maci Rashoff scored eight points. Adyson Barrows and Kendall Cournyer both scored four points, and Cournyer finished with a game-high 12 rebounds.
Both the Tigers (19-6) and Vikings (12-11) are safely in the 2B State Tournament, and they will find out their seeding and Regional Round opponent early Sunday afternoon when the state tournament brackets are released by the seeding committee.
